New Look
Every now and then people needs new look. The New Year 2068 has proven to a NEW LOOK YEAR. Our very own Shankhar dai has dyed his hair to natural black, making him look younger and more vibrant.
Likewise, Bibhu dai is trying on some new look for himself as well. Bibhu dai is trying hard to pull of his bed look.
Cheers to all
Chikileaks Dead?
No, Chikileaks is not dead. Just dormant. Well its not that there is no leaks to write about. Its just that it hasn't been written by anyone. Seems like everyone is busy this year.
To start with, Chikusa welcomed the new year with a well needed price adjustment. Still serving the best damn coffee in the world (and I have tasted my share of different coffees from all over the world). Anyone who says 'money can't buy happiness' hasn't yet had the Chikusa Coffee big mug (yes, the super dad mug). Black. Without sugar. Never fails to put a big smile on your face, and a huge satisfaction in your heart.
Talking about the Chikusa regulars, Dhir dai opened his 4th (Fourth) hotel in the Manaslu circuit. More is still in construction. The word is that he is planing on 8 hotels. Busy man.
Suraj dai has grown a mustache. Or he simply hasn't got the time to shave. Whatever the reason, he has been busy on his treks and other works. So busy that he hasn't even found the time to read or sketch.
Motae is driving all over the country promoting (and of course, selling) his electronic security products. Looks like it is time for Chikusa owners to think about expanding, or better yet franchising the brand. Pokhara seems to be a good place to start. Then to Sauraha, Narayanghat, Lumbini, Hetauda, Biratnagar ( Cold coffee would rock in hotter regions ), Lukla ( Imagine a Chikusa coffee after a death defying, stomach churning flight, especially that landing at Lukla airport! Simply amazing. ). Well, all over Nepal. A Chikusa coffee should never be far from you.
That reminds me of Rajesh. He comes all the way from Kumaripati to Thamel just for the coffee ( and friends of course ). And with no bike or a car, its public transport or a super duper expensive cab. Anyways, its the coffee that drags him to this place called Chikusa.
He too has been busy busy busy. Loads of work. And loads of learning. I found him working even on Good Friday (Ester Holidays).
Ester Holidays. Suresh dai and Dorine (hope is spelled it correctly, really really sorry if i didn't) are on vacation. Word is that there were going to Pokhara. A well deserved vacation after months and months of working 24/7. They didn't even have time for coffee. The only times I see them in Chikusa is when they are discussing work with others (a kind of informal meeting).
I work from Chikusa too. But only when I'm alone. Waiting for friends or something like that. These days I don't have the time to come in the mornings. So can't really say what's up with Sarbendra dai, Bal dai and the gang. Though Pushpa dai sometimes comes for a cup of coffee during lunch. Busy people.
Sankar dai is back in town. Don't really know ho long he'll stay here. Haven't seen him hanging around Chikusa this time around.
One particular Chikusa regular is enjoying her freedom in a huge way. Parties, mandir darshans (heard that she managed the asta binayak (8 Ganesh temples) darshan in one day... bravo), treasure hunts, movies, vacations (which she claims that she never went on), and what not. One thing is that she is ready for coffee any day, any time. Well not really any time. But would be if Chikusa opened 24/7.
That might be a great idea. Chikusa take away cups. Chikusa automated coffee dispenser. Scrap that. No dispenser. Just take away cups. Imagine strolling through Thamel sipping the best coffee in the world. Should try it some time. But on a regular mug. I bet all the foreigner would go 'Cool, where can I get those.' and all the Nepalese would go 'Bahula manche. Chiya khadai batoma hidchha.' Anyways, I personally think that it'd be cool.
Tashi, Prem and the gang would simply love that. Open air, friends, jokes, the rating thing, and coffee. They'd make take aways an instant hit. I find them hanging in Chikusa a lot. These guys are true examples of 'age is just another number'.
Talking about age, Chikusa is 12 years and counting. Estd. 1998. Cool. Its time to make it a big brand name. Chikusa Coffee. 'The best damn coffee in the whole wide world.' Well, we'd have to use subtle words if Chikusa if to make the news. Well well. Somesh might be able to help us with that. Imagine him reading the news, or interviewing in Rise n Shine, or doing his sports analysis show. Man, he is one busy guy. Anyways, there he is on TV, reading, interviewing or doing whatever he does (on TV), sipping coffee from a mug with Chikusa logo on it.
Well, there is one problem, Chikusa doesn't have a logo. But it can me made. We have Suraj dai to work on the sketch. I could create a digital version. Chaku could turn it into a 3D thing or something like that. Phuche could do the branding campaign thing. Motae could handle marketing campaign thing. Sujan phuche could use his architecture skills to redesign the interiors. Kali could provide free wifi (at least for during the rebranding period - so people working on the project can watch funny clips off of youtube) In the Chikusa family has got designers, photographers, web developers, software developers, architects, marketers, writers, and all shot of people. These things can be done easily. And all these people would be ready to put their time and effort to make it happen.
That's my say. Chikileaks is not dead. The leaks would always be there. But there might be other ways to spread the leaks. Gotta go now. Will post more later.

Happy New Year
Happy New Year to the Chikusa Regulars (or should it be mentioned as no-more regulars?).
The wishes are extended from the Chikileaks community, to the Chikileaks community members.
Wishes that Chikusa may remain their favorite place on earth (besides their beds and some non-descript places); Wishes that Chikusa still may offer the best coffee in the world (even if you dare to disagree); Wishes that the community members shall be seeing each other a bit more in the headquarters (and only rarely visiting the nearby pubs with the fraternity pals); Wishes that the Chikileaks ambassadors remain in touch and engage themselves in stimulating conversation (intellectually stimulating and none other body part involving) throughout the year; Wishes that Chikileaks is updated and visited by more people than Yudina; Wishes that Chikileaks headquarters does well, so as to incorporate us in the space that's there; Last, but not the least, wishes that everybody who visits Chikileaks headquarters remains happy ever after....

Deserted Chikileaks
Dear Active members of Chikileaks,
I, Yudina Poudel check Chikileaks everyday after I start my computer, but I am rather surprised because the last post was made on January 15, 2011. And since then Chikileaks is being forgotten . Its been quite sometime that Bibhu dai and Suraj dai joined forces to create Chikileaks, after the failure of then popular The Chikusa Times. Everyone thought Chikileaks will not be a failure but to everyone's dismay there are only four post since it was created i.e. January 12, 2011. Every active member of Chikileaks seems to be very busy in there own work, they might even think there is nothing to write, leaving Chikileaks very deserted.
So gear up people, write whatever you feel like and whatever is happening and make Chikileaks exciting. Lets all join forces to make Chikileaks so exciting that everyone will check it everyday in order to get some scoops about what is happening around Chikusa.
I request all please to write whatever they feel like. This is what I felt like writing thus wrote.
Cheers :D

Chikusa gang spotted in Baudha area
Sharma, Verma and 4-5 other Chikusa regulars were spotted in a authentic Chinese eatery around Baudha this afternoon. Their tummies looked stuffed with a big smile plastered on their faces. Comment if anyone knows more details about the spotting.

Chikusa Times v/s Chikileaks
